Among his peers and pet owners alike, Dr. Albert Angel has earned a reputation as one of the best veterinarians in South Florida. His valued service and dedication, his extensive knowledge and impressive skills in treating sick or injured animals, as well as his holistic approach in maintaining wellness and longevity in his furry patients are reasons Dr. Angel has long been regarded as the area's "Top Vet".

Dr. Angel has been practicing Veterinary Medicine in South Palm Beach County since 1984. He is a graduate from UNAM University of Mexico, who received his DVM degree in 1981 and has been passionate about his profession ever since. He experienced working at Crandon Park Zoo in Key Biscayne for a short term, prior to his externship at Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. His main focus in his vocation has been to educate owners as to the proper medical care for the well-being of their furry family member.

He is a member of Feline Practitioners Association and a member of the Veterinary Laser Society. His special interests include internal medicine for dogs and cats and emergency care. He started his private practice in Palm Beach County in 1985, where he has extended to multiple locations and combined his knowledge with other experienced associates. As Medical Director and Chief of Staff, Dr. Angel offers at all three hospitals surgical and laser procedures, dentistry, emergency critical care, radiology and other medical services our four-legged friends require to maintain wellness.

He is a devoted family man married for over 27 years with three children who are the main focus for his life. Among his favorite breeds are German Shepherds and Labradors, though at the moment a Domestic Long Hair cat and a miniature Italian Greyhound that goes by the name of "Beamer" rule his animal kingdom. When time allows, he enjoys working out at the gym and grilling at home with his family. He looks forward to many more years of enjoying his family and his passion for animals, as he looks forward to meeting new patients.

Dr. George Zafir, the hospital director of the Animal Hospital of the Palm Beaches, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in Montreal. His Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree was obtained in 1983 from the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Zafir has practiced at the Animal Hospital of the Palm Beaches since arriving in the United States almost 15 years ago, He is married to his first and only wife for nearly 25 years. He has 3 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats and one kitty on the way. Dr. Zafir enjoys reading, swimming and landscaping his yard. Dr. Zafir is also enthralled with rappellmg off mountains, skydiving, fast car racing, volcano explorations and great white shark encounters, but only in his dreams. Most importantly to Dr. Zafir is to enjoy time with family and friends and to be the best he can be for his patients and their guardians.

Dr. Lisa Ciucci Dr. Lisa Ciucci
Dr. Lisa Ciucci joined our Medical Team in March of 2009 as both Surgeon and General Practioner. Prior to moving to Sunny South Florida, Dr. Ciucci acted as the primary surgeon for a busy multi doctor hospital in Richland, Michigan. A graduate of Michigan State University her collegiate training focused on surgical opportunities and she has since completed countless hours of continuing education in Cruciate Repair more commonly known as knee surgery. Her career focus remains both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery with a twist of Internal Medicine. She received her bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University, while playing varsity volleyball which she now enjoys playing on the sand at the beach. Her true passion has always been working with rescue leagues and local shelters where she adopted her 3 furry loves, a beagle, a cat, and a 3 legged greyhound.

We welcome Dr. Ciucci to our Medical Team as she enhances our practice with innovative medicine and surgical proficiency. She is soft-spoken yet with determination to practice the most current and proficient medical techniques. Dr. Ciucci will direct you with the accurate treatment for your pet, while taking under consideration the personalized care that each and every patient deserves.

A true Compassionate Veterinarian at best, her bedside manners compliments her expertise style. Available for Orthopedic consultations, Dr. Ciucci will assist you with the utmost care and concern in choosing the appropriate medical treatment for your special family member.

Dr. Gary GlickmanDr. Gary Glickman

Our Emergency Critical Care Unit is lead by our own Florida native, Dr. Gary Glickman, graduate from North Miami High School, and 1977 graduate from the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. He enriched his comprehension and perception of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna, Italy where he received his DVM degree in 1992 from Facolta di Medicina Veterinaria. Returning to the States in 1992, he did a Post-Graduate Course for Foreign Veterinarians at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan.  He returned to his Florida home were he practiced general medicine with interests in Dermatology, Surgery and Oncology from 2000-2004 in Coral Springs. He furthered his medical career by accepting a position in Hillsboro Beach, where he became proficient in Laser Surgery. After which he accepted the position of Medical Director from 2007-2009 of Rock Creek Animal Hospital in Cooper City. His travels, and multiplicity of medical positions have allowed him to encounter higher levels of medicine where diversity of medical treatments are accessible for patient care.

We are excited about Dr. Glickman joining our medical team to assist in the expansion of our Emergency Care Unit thereby giving more accessibility to medical care hours for the patient. His specialty areas of interest are Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, and Dermatology with Emergency Critical Care ranking the utmost mark.

Among his hobbies of reading, walking, and a friendly game of Basketball, he enjoys a quick get away to the Mountains for a Hiking and Biking Adventure. After many years of companionship, his beloved Ziggy and Frankie, a schnauzer and yorkie passed away, leaving a vacant spot in his heart. Amongst all the daily patients, he rescued a stray cat 5 years ago, which he named Diamond, who has managed to fill a soft furry spot in his heart.

Besides enjoying the pursuit of medicine and cultivating challenges, his favorite is spending quality time with his daughter, who is undeniably the love of his life.

Dr. Visarion Cornel MuresanDr. Visarion Cornel Muresan

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Visarion Cornel Muresan to our Medical Team.

Dr. Muresan received his first DVM degree from The University of Veterinary Medicine & Agricultural Sciences in Cluj-Napoca Romania, in the Heart of Transylvania. After which he worked in the Government Prevention of Contagious Diseases sector as a Veterinarian for Small and Large Animals. His responsibilities included Internal Medicine, Reproduction, and various Surgeries. He decided to expand his veterinary knowledge and moved to Canada in 2001, where he joined a Large High Genetics Institute as Director of the Swine Reproduction Nursery. To improve his small animal skills and knowledge, and to advance his Western Veterinary Education, he applied and was accepted to an AVMA accredited University. A graduate of the University of Montreal, College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Muresan received his second DVM degree in 2007.

After receiving both a New York State Veterinary License, and a Florida State Veterinary License, he chose our Sunshine State as his next culture advancement. Moving to Pensacola where he worked for a few years at one of the largest small animal practices in the Florida panhandle. He later decided to relocate to South Florida in 2008, as ‘The Sunshine State’ is the perfect spot for his love of outdoor activities, bowling, flight, and dining with friends.

His unconditional love of animals, along with his compassionate approach and wholehearted communication skills, makes him a most admirable Doctor to the Veterinarian society. As a Medical Member of our Veterinary Practices, Dr. Muresan will be playing a crucial part in the development of Boca-Delray Animal Hospital extended hours for Patient-Care and Client Convenience.

His special medical interests are dermatology, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and more recently emergencies. He continually strives to advance his broad spectrum of available medicine with innovative medical techniques.  He welcomes all patients with loving tender care, as well as welcoming their owners by providing communication in several languages including, French, Romanian and Spanish to our Customer Base.

As his creed is to “Never Give Up”, his determination makes him not only an asset to our Medical Team, but also to the Veterinary Community.
